One of the most serious threats to an individual’s unique humanity is the misguided desire to move with the crowd; to do what everyone else is doing; to be like everyone else. This pursuit, this desire to be like everyone else, is a sure way to become average. If we allow what everybody’s doing to determine what we should be doing, we may find ourselves doing what nobody should be doing.
You ask me why I spend my life writing? Do I find entertainment? Is it worthwhile? Above all, does it pay? If not, then, is there a reason?… I write only because there is a voice within me. That will not be still.
